What happens when
we need to shed a tear
When we are constantly running into walls
one after another
Depression
Finances
Relationships
These walls ain’t the problem
It’s that last wall that final boss
Life
The hardest boss
that has defeated many
And broken down men
Into the weakest being
Allowing the real problem
To show itself like a rotten sore
Tears
But where can we run to
When we are portrayed as
Someone who should be strong
Without wearying weaknesses
Where can we go
To release our doubts
For we are supposed to be
Filled with pride
And showered by courage
What can we do
To get validation
For feelings
That
Should
Not
Be
A man isn’t supposed to cry
Lies
Even as I write this poem
I’m holding back tears
I’m fighting demons
With a toothpick
Instead of a sword
I’m hiding
Hoping for
Something
Someone
Seeking the same answers
To provide me with cheat codes
I’m looking
Searching
Investigating
What materials I can reference
To help me understand
Because…
I’m tired
Mentally
I’m not here
Emotionally
I’ve checked out
But
I won’t give up
Little eyes are upon me
Waiting to see my rise from the ashes
Showing her that
I am her hero
People are reading these words
Getting comfort
Knowing that a man
Is human and
We
Hurt
We
Break
We
Fail
But when we cry
What happens then
